About Street Portraits, day thirteen of 30

This photo was taken July 10th 2022.  I can remember it was on Broadway, but not exactly where.  The gentleman had the air of a minister, and seemed very happy with him self that someone had asked to take his photo. 

Do you think about AI and street portraits? It has crossed my mind.  At some point I went through and unfollowed any account that had street portraits (or street ‘photography’) that was 100% AI generated.   But, look, it’s been 36 (thirty six) years that adobe photoshop has been around.  AI took digital photo editing and simply made it more accessible to anyone. AI can’t take the photo, not in the sense or manner that Street Portraits are done, not yet. Surprisingly robotics has been slower to develop than AI, however, I think that once a robot is more mainstream, more mobile, and more independent, and think for themselves, then we may see a monumental shift in what street photography is.  But I don’t care that some use AI to edit photos, or to edit captions or to edit paragraphs that go into books.  I think I’ll care when the camera is completely removed from the hands of humans and when other humans don’t mind that an agree to a non human asking to take their picture.
