Why do I do this?

Life is kinetic. A lot of time it seems like we can default to just being along for the ride. I think about it often, when I don’t ask, it seems like a missed opportunity that will never, ever come back. Also because it isn’t neat and clean, it does not need an end state, a certain level of photo, or anything like that. It feels like a connection to the world around me. This photo was taken January 26th 2025.  Some of this is typical for me:  I always try to shoot eye level with them.  She is memorable for a few reasons. January 2025 was a good month for street portraits, I had walked away from her and she called me back after she changed her mind.  But also, while I like how this came out: @streetshinobi has a photo of her in his book Notorious that captures her in a completely different way, and is pretty awesome.
