About Street Portraits, day eighteen of 30. Do you remember all the people?
Looking back and photos, most times I can remember the place, sometimes the details of the conversation and the impression they made. Some people leave a strong but delible mark on the day, the month or memory in general. But, given life and the passage of time, most blend into a collective of people met. Which in a way is kind of a benefit of street portraits. So in some way, some of these people will be held in a memory. But a few I do remember. I’ve seen her several times over the years, as far back as 2018. She’s often talking to an audience that others don’t see, but when I ask her about taking a picture, she’s very distinct and lucid. There have been yes days and no days, those answers are non-dependent on her appearance or general condition. The last few times she has politely said no to my ask for her photo, though she’s still as pleasant as ever. Her hair, normally kept styled, has been cut very short, and a bit uneven. These photos range from September 2021 to August of 2024.
