Day Three of Thirty
Why prime lenses?
If this sounds ethereal, deep and heaving insightful, accept my apologies now. Prime lenses lend to you being where you are at the moment, and focus on catching the moment as it appears in front of your eyes, and keeping you attached to the moment as is. With street portraits, each lens brings out tends to bring out exactly who the person is, at least one part of who they are, or maybe its that a prime lens reduces everything away down to just the person.
This probably doesn’t make any sense, but they remind me of riding fixed in the city. Avoiding the cliché term of ‘connected’ more like intrinsic photo taking, and after using a few of them for a while, the world presents itself in a prime lens POV. Mostly thought, it’s intent, and prime lenses seem to help keep intent and focus. And. Also. Most prime lenses don’t look like personal mobile missile launchers. And. Also. They can also result in you stepping off a curb with out knowing you are stepping off a curb.
